Overview
A public agency’s acquisition of a partial or fee interest in a property for public use may result in the displacement of persons or businesses. Public agencies rely on RWG lawyers to advise them regarding their obligations to provide relocation assistance and benefits to eligible displaced persons or businesses. RWG has broad experience in advising clients on the applicable relocation assistance and benefits pursuant to the California Relocation Act (Government Code § 7260 et seq.) and Relocation Guidelines (Chapter 6 of Title 25 of the California Code of Regulations) or the Uniform Relocation Assistance and Real Property Acquisition Policies for Federal and Federally Assisted Programs (42 U.S.C. § 4601, et seq.)
RWG regularly assists clients with the preparation or analysis of relocation plans and agreements with eligible displaced persons or businesses. RWG lawyers also represent public agencies on relocation appeals.
