Open Government: Managing Public Meetings and Public Records in an Electronic Age.

Whitney McDonald and Amy Greyson will speak on “Open Government: Managing Public Meetings and Public Records in an Electronic Age” at the California Special District Association Annual Conference on September 26, 2017.  The presentation will discuss how public agencies are addressing electronic records and the use of personal email accounts and devices following the San Jose Case, as well as guidance for responding to requests made under the Public Records Act for these types of records.  The discussion will also include a Brown Act update, with a focus on new electronic posting requirements and tips for avoiding illegal meetings in this electronic age.
